Most TF255 steering rods use Defender track rod ends: RTC5869 (RH thread) & RTC5870 (LH thread).
However, TF255 stock received in September & October 2020 from Britpart had Discovery 2 track rod ends: QFS000010 & QFS000010RH due to supply issues. These have a metric thread (M18 x 1.5mm pitch), while Defender track rod ends use an imperial thread (11/16” UNF – 17.46mm diameter).
⚠ Using the wrong track rod ends can damage the steering rod threads. The metric and imperial sizes are similar, so incorrect installation may seem to fit but will cause damage if forced.
If a customer reports RTC5869 & RTC5870 don’t fit, please check if they have a Britpart TF255 rod.
