1. Check the VIN / Emissions label
Look for EURO 4 or EURO 5 on the VIN/engine emissions label under the bonnet:
EURO 4 – usually no DPF
EURO 5 – has DPF (2011 onwards)
2. Look for a DPF warning light
Turn the ignition on – if you see a DPF or “soot filter” warning symbol on the dash (a box with dotted lines), your vehicle has a DPF.
3. Check the exhaust system
A DPF looks like a larger, sealed canister in the exhaust system before the main catalytic converter. If you can see this, your vehicle has a DPF.
